John Hatcher Realty, owner of the property surrounding this Plaza Midwood staple, wanted to develop the full plot of land. The Beaver wouldn't budge. Hatcher erected a fence around the Beaver to turn customers - and the fire marshal - off. It only intrigued (and rallied) the former and got a finger shake from the latter. Long live the Beave.
