We have taken a number of skeptics to the tiny Musashi Japanese Restaurant who have come out believers in Charlotte's ability to produce a quality restaurant. The key is ordering from the Japanese menu, which is, of course, written in Japanese. This is not the sushi list or the menu containing the ramen and the bento boxes. We've had excellent fried whole fish; grilled octopus; and an addicting pot of sliced beef, soft tofu and egg. If you are lucky enough to sit near the tatami room during a party, you will see Japanese dishes not on either the English or Japanese menus. These dishes have been pre-ordered. Great ethnic cuisine has always been available in Charlotte. You just have to order the right dishes.
