For anyone living here in the last half of the 20th century who wasn’t a decidedly right-wing, racist homophobe, Sens. Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond were a constant source of embarrassment and consternation. James has spent the better part of two decades living up to (or down to?) the standards of regressive nastiness they set. And he’s just getting more racist, xenophobic and homophobic in his old age. Time to get rid of this guy, 6th District.
