We touted the first film (Trollhunter) in this burgeoning series last year, so we're pleased that this ultra-hip event is still going strong. Filmgoers with a taste for the sexy, violent, provocative and/or plain offbeat have taken to this series like good ole boys to conservative politics. Speaking of good ole boys, they were featured in the clever gorefest Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, one of BAFS's best offerings to date. Until this series starts booking Nicholas Sparks adaptations, we're there. Runners-up: The Light Factory's Spirit of '72; the downtown Charlotte library's Ships Ahoy!!: 8 Classic Seafaring Films as well as the library's Extra! Extra! Celebrating the Newspaper Picture.
