When the thrill of the Big Rock Show wears off, gig-goers know the best ones happen in intimate settings. This Plaza Midwood mainstay features musician-friendly environs (i.e., two different patios for the talkers) and a gritty rock vibe, improved acoustics (if you haven't been in a while, go listen), and eclectic booking. Out-of-towners as diverse as gritty, old-school, punk-country bluesman Andre Williams and Brit dream-pop young'uns Still Corners have learned what the locals experience regularly: With its modest riser and intimate backdrop, Snug's bands feed off their audiences' energy to the extent that when one hits the pocket, everybody enjoys the win.
