Ngongang is woven into the fabric of civic involvement here in Charlotte. A native Charlottean, he’s the Charlotte Outreach Coordinator for GenerationEngage, a nonpartisan youth civic engagement group that connects young people to their local government on several levels. In an interview with CL, Ngongang stated, “I want to make giving back cool, making it a reference point for our local government.” It’s his hope that 10 years from now, GenerationEngage will expand and reach even more people, specifically individuals who fall outside of the four-year college environment.
