It might be a bit too early to declare that “it’s not your dad’s Mint,” but with a new building, new leadership and fresh attempts at connecting with broader segments of the community, the Mint appears to be making a sincere attempt to have a renewed central role in the region’s cultural scene, at a scale that only an institution of its history and capacity can play — exactly at a time when we could use that extra dose of culture. 500 S.
