When we spoke to Charlotte rapper and producer Brio on an episode of CL's Local Vibes podcast in January, he had just come off the release of his debut album, LITEBLEU, and told us he already had some new vibes coming down the pipe. Today he's coming through on that promise with the release of his first follow-up single, "Guru."

The song, which is written, produced and performed by Brio, features his signature sound: a dizzying and trippy melody over menacing drums that serve as a dark backdrop for Brio's inspiring lyrics.

"This song is the beginning of where we left from LITEBLEU, taking you more deeply into my mind and purpose with where I want to take the audience," Brio said.

"It's like a mantra or self-motivating tune that speaks about being in your energy and trust in that vision and let it take you to something hopefully of bliss. It's just a real-talk track about our lives and the importance of our own energy and steering it toward love and energy."
