Vani Hari, aka Charlotte's Food Babe, scored a victory today after Kraft announced it would remove artificial dyes from three mac 'n' cheese products aimed toward children.

The company told the AP the recipe changes had nothing to do with Hari's Change.org petition, which by Thursday had 348,000 signatures.

Who knows whether it was the petition, changing demands from consumers - or perhaps both - that finally spoke to Kraft. Hari, who has been one of the most outspoken opponents of artificial food dyes, claimed it as a victory in a post she wrote today.

Tell Kraft thank you for listening, but they have more work to do.

We want artificial food dyes that are linked to hyperactivity, asthma, allergies and contaminated with carcinogens out of all Mac & Cheese products.

The human body was not meant to eat Petroleum.

Kraft Macaroni and Cheese in the US contains the artificial food dyes Yellow 5 and Yellow 6. These dyes are not in Kraft Macaroni and Cheese in other countries, including the UK, because they are considered harmful overseas and were removed due to consumer outcry. Kraft reformulated their product for the UK, but not for their fellow American citizens, and it's time we demand the same here in the US!
