Democracy for America's "Heroes and Villains: Southern Edition" is in its final round of voting, and North Carolina's own Gov. Pat McCrory (formerly known as Crown Town's Mayor Pat) is among the nominees, though apparently "villain" is his only option ... and he's this close to winning. (OK, he's in third place.)
According to the website:
Democracy for America's Heroes and Villains competition allows our members to identify and support their favorite progressive politician while simultaneously singling out a villainous incumbent who has proposed dangerous and disastrous right wing legislation.
Last I checked, McCrory had 610 votes. His competition for top villain in the country includes Florida's Gov. Rick Scott (860 votes), Virginia's Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli (701 votes), Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott (527 votes), Tennessee Sen. Stacey Campfield (204 votes) and Louisiana's Gov. Bobby Jindal (194 votes).
The winner "will incur the wrath of DFA and our million member firepower," according to the website ... which apparently includes working to boot them out of office.

Pat McCrory took office with the promise that he would not sign into law any attempt to limit a woman's right to choose in his state. He has since gone back on his word and said he would sign a bill that made it through the NC house that would make it more difficult for women in his state to get the healthcare they need. In addition to this, McCrory is a loud advocate of voter ID legislation which would make it more difficult for many North Carolinians to vote. Public education didn't escape McCrory's wrath either as he is a proud advocate of private school vouchers. North Carolina deserves a strong, honest governor and Pat McCrory does not fulfill this need.
Democracy for America brands itself as "the country's only people-powered political action committee, with one million members across the country guiding the work we do every day."
