Having already debuted at UNC Charlotte, the proposed art for the LYNX Blue Line Extension comes to McColl Center for Visual Art to give the public a second peek at the artwork that 16 selected artists created for 11 stations along the nine-mile stretch.

Since construction for the extension - which will start Uptown at Ninth Street and run through NoDa before reaching UNC Charlotte's main campus in North Charlotte - won't begin until late 2013 and isn't predicted to finished until 2017, you'd better not miss the chance to see this now. The exhibit showcases designs by local artists Susan Brenner, Chandra Cox, Sharon Dowell, Daren Goins, Ruth Ava Lyons and Paul Sires, Shaun Cassidy, Tom Stanley and others. Opening reception on March 22, 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Exhibit continues through March 30. Free admission. McColl Center for Visual Art, 721 N. Tryon St. 704-332-5535. www.mccollcenter.org.
