Congratulations to josieposie33, a local user of the Flickr Web site and fan of both The Light Factory and Creative Loafing. Her photograph Stray Shopping Cart was selected out of more than 30 submitted for The Stray Shopping Cart project, whereby creative Charlotteans (and the world at large) were charged with finding and photographing stray shopping carts. The idea started with Buffalo, N.Y.-based artist Julian Montague, who not only created The Stray Shopping Cart Project, but developed an elaborate classification system based on the situations of each unique cart he discovered (www.montagueprojects.com and www.strayshoppingcart.com). An exhibition of his work was held this winter at The Light Factory. Thanks to all who submitted their photographs – the decision was difficult! See all the great photos on Flickr by joining The Light Factory and Creative Loafing’s Stray Shopping Cart group.
