Charlotte, N.C. | Introducing Ice Skating and Lights, two new experiences coming to the U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) this Fall.

Ice Skating features a one-of-a-kind skating environment with 17,000 sqare feet of ice, three distinct programming areas, and complete with a “skate-up bar” where visitors can order hot chocolate, coffee, or beer.

Lights is a new half-mile walking trail in the woods that leads viewers through a series of immersive light installations featuring honeycombs, vines, crystals, and more. The works are site-specific to the Whitewater Center and are created by Charlotte artist Meredith Connelly (Art by Meredith Connelly).

Both experiences will be available with an Annual Pass, Day Pass, or Single Activity Pass. Single Activity Passes start at $20. The experiences are expected to be open to the public in mid-November.

The USNWC is dedicated to the promotion of the active, outdoor lifestyle. Since 2006, the USNWC has been promoting access to the outdoors for all levels of participants through its all-day pass programs, instruction, leadership school as well as festivals, races and other outdoor events. Whether you visit the Center’s 1,300 acres on the Catawba River or participate in the offsite programs featured throughout the United States, the USNWC wants you to play, relax and learn outside.
