Sublime Journey Gaurav Majumdar is an accomplished sitar player dwelling in Hindustani (North Indian classical) music. Nirmala Rajasekar is an astute proponent of the veena (an Indian stringed instrument that precedes the sitar by centuries). She is a Carnatic (South Indian classical) musician. This concert offers the confluence of the two styles with two percussionists using tabla (Hindustani music percussion) and mridangam (percussion of choice of Carnatic musicians), adding the rhythmic backdrop. The jugalbandi (duet) concert begins at 6pm. $10-$25. Tate Hall, CPCC. www.ipaac.org/GauravNirmala.htm. (Samir Shukla)
