A bar of beauty

Last week, The Shops at Caramel Village converted into a beauty bash during the Beauty Crawl. But there wasn’t too much crawling – now I’m not talking about the Santa bar crawl where people dressed like snowflakes and elves were stumbling from bar to bar pretending to be led by an imaginary Rudolph while girls in slutty santa suits were chanting “Ho, Ho, Ho!”

Although, this crawl was festive in it’s own right.

The Beauty Crawl was a quaint party including two makeshift beauty bars and a tea bar: Salon Tribeca, Skin Elements, and Urbana City Spa & Tea Bar.

Salon Tribeca was giving party up-dos and blow-outs for the occasion, Skin Elements was doing makeovers and providing skin analysis, while Urbana was serving up wines and teas with a side of zen.

Urbana’s feature drink for the evening was a blush champagne for which they paired with caviar... I felt so fancy. Not to mention adventurous as I tried the fish egg delicacy for the first time; it was like taking a fish oil pill coated in cream cheese. But this isn’t the kind of bar you get rowdy in... it’s the kind of bar you relax in, it is a tea bar after all... hence the name, Urbana City Spa & Tea Bar. The bar has over 100 different types of teas in addition to a full menu of massage services.

The owner stresses the “chill factor” of the bar’s ambiance — and let me just say, once one of their acclaimed therapist gave me a hand massage, I was feeling quite chill.

And for the zen-side scoop... Urbana is opening a new location in Birkdale Village.

So, Charlotte has a coffee shop that serves alcohol, a yoga place, a massage place… what’s next? A full service bar in Target?

And these ladies were spotted at Salon Tribeca... now that’s what I call boots with the furrrr!
