First Drip (7/30/15): Actor's Theatre searching for new home

The Actor's Theatre of Charlotte is in search of a new home. The current site, home to the Actor's Theatre since 2004, will be demolished in order to build an apartment building. (Of course!) The theatre is entering its 27th season and is searching for a bigger space as its lease is up in July of 2016.

With an Aug. 14 deadline looming, state lawmakers have yet to agree on a budget which is leaving public schools uncertain about their future. The Senate and House have spent more time pointing fingers at who is to blame instead of meeting to get a budget deal finalized.

Debris has washed ashore on Reunion Island, near the coast of Africa, that authorities believe could be from Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 that disappeared more than a year ago. While it is being called a "major lead," further examination is needed to determine whether or not it is from the lost plane. Flight MH370 disappeared in March of 2014 with 239 people aboard.

A University of Cincinnati police officer has been indicted on murder charges in the death of Samuel Dubose. The officer, Ray Tensing, shot Dubose, who was unarmed, during a routine traffic stop. Footage of the incident was released yesterday.

Football is right around the corner, as the Carolina Panthers open training camp in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
