Going out in Charlotte doesn't have to be expensive. In fact, to prove that statement, we've compiled a list of cheap - $10 or less - things to do in the Q.C. this weekend. These events may vary, but they're all entertaining and they won't break your bank (piggy banks excluded).

Stop, Shop & Roll at Suite: Circa360, a mobile clothing boutique, presents this fashion event that showcases pieces from its new fall collections. Cover is free from 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. and ladies get a complimentary glass of champagne. Oct. 17. Suite, 210 E. Trade St. www.suitecharlotte.com.

Science on the Rocks: Fright at the Museum at Discovery Place: The adults-only night will be Halloween focused, so wear a costume if you have one. The event features a fear factor challenge, along with spooky science experiments, a costume contest and more. There’s also eight bars spread throughout the museum, too. $8-$10. Oct. 17, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Discovery Place, 301 N. Tryon St. 704-372-6261. www.discoveryplace.org.

NoDa Ghosts & Legends Walking Tour: These free tours don’t just get you in the Halloween spirit, they also get you interested in the history behind one of Charlotte’s artsiest hoods. Guides lead groups and share stories about ghosts that have reportedly been seen in the surroundings. Tours leave every 15 minutes and last about one hour. Free. Oct. 17, 7-11 p.m. Meeting spot in front of Boudreaux's Louisiana Kitchen, 501 E. 36th St. www.facebook.com/nodahistory.

Q-City Charlotte BBQ Championship: Admission is free, but bring some cash for eating and drinking. Teams will be competing in barbecue cook offs and there will be entertainment throughout the day. Oct. 17-18, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Held Uptown at 200 S. Tryon St. www.charlottebbqfestival.com.

“LookBook Live” at SouthPark Mall: SouthPark, Glamour and GQ have teamed up for this interactive fashion event that includes a live lounge, a style challenge, fashion experts, giveaways and local style icons. This is a time for the folks who fashionably challenged to ask questions. Free. Oct. 18, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. SouthPark Mall, 4400 Sharon Road.
