The business community is pressuring Gov. McCrory to call a special session over incentives. The General Assembly failed to "add more money for Job Development Investment Grants and create a special, flexible fund aimed at closing deals in the latter stages of negotiations with companies" during its most recent short session. McCrory's spokesman offered no comment on the matter.

In unrelated news, McCrory told a local TV station that he thinks the U.S. Supreme Court should decide whether Amendment One is unconstitutional. On Wednesday supporters of gay marriage handed McCrory 12,000 petition signatures, urging him to stop upholding the state's ban on gay marriage.

Customers and employees of a Boston-area grocery store who had been protesting the ousting of its much-loved owner were delighted to hear Arthur T. Demoulas will return to the store. Demoulas managed to buy out his cousin's (his ouster) share of Market Basket, ending six weeks of protests in which customers refused to shop at the store and employees refused to work.

Would you be willing to transform bad memories into good ones? That's what scientists at MIT and from Japan were able to do in mice recently.
