On Friday the state Department of Environment and Natural Resources released a 13,000 pages of public-information requests. Among the literature were emails that showed Duke Energy had been working for years with state regulators to keep coal ash dam breach plans from the public. They blame terrorists - but environmentalists aren't buying it.

About 1,000 parents showed up at Charlotte Catholic High School yesterday to complain about a speech visiting Sister Jane Dominic Laurel gave that many considered inflammatory against gays, lesbians divorce and single parenthood. The school says the speech even caught them off guard.

Four are dead and 16 injured after a shooter at Fort Hood in Texas opened fire on Wednesday. Army Spc. Ivan Lopez served four months in Iraq and had been treated for depression and anxiety. The incident opens old wounds left by a November 2009 shooting that killed 13 and injured 32 at Fort Hood, the largest such incident on a military base in U.S. history.

Indiana Jones is apparently alive and well in the U.S. The FBI raided the home of 91-year-old artifact collector who had amassed a large collection of "Native American items and objects from at least nine other countries including China, Russia, Italy and Greece." Donald Miller hasn't been charged with any crimes.
