Sorry, folks - I should have thought to share this sooner.
Last week, we unveiled our annual Neighborhood Guide. This year's Neighborhood Navigator looks at 17 areas of Charlotte and beyond. More importantly, the edition listed 108 things you must do in Charlotte before you die - or move away.
I assumed many people would keep the issue for reference, but I suppose a newspaper just isn't as sexy as a printer-friendly list. So, here you go: A printable document containing our recommendations of 108 things to do in Charlotte.

In a flash as quick as one of the many strobe lights, Sleigh Bells hit the Fillmore stage on Tuesday night, tore through a 45-minute, 12-song set before returning for a four-song encore and leaving the crowd in a pile of sweat. Given the band's volume, intensity and raw energy, I'm not sure fans could ask for much more - aside from a return visit.
The noise-rock duo, which tours as a quartet, started the night with "Minnie" as singer Alexis Krauss danced and guitarist Derek E. Miller leapt, jumped and spun his way around the stage while shredding riffs. A quartet of Marshall amplifiers were stacked on either side of the drummer as the band's sonic assault hit the audience with thunderous might.

"Today we lost my friend and partner of 30 years. Thank you for all the years of love and support that you all have given us."
The simple, heartfelt post on Antiseen frontman Jeff Clayton's Facebook page pays tribute to guitarist and founding member Joe Young, who died today at age 54. At press time, cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
Along with vocalist Clayton, Young jump-started the Charlotte-based, Southern punk-rock juggernaut that celebrated 30 years of hard rocking reckless abandon and everyman appeal in 2013.
A memorial service for Young will be held at Tremont Music Hall on May 18 at 3 p.m. Anyone wishing to offer condolences should send them to Jeff Young, 5516 Farmbrook Dr., Charlotte, NC 28210. News More anti-GMO protests planned in Charlotte

In April Vermont's Senate became the first legislative house in the nation to pass a law that would require labeling for foods produced with genetically modified organisms, and a group of Charlotte protesters want North Carolina to follow in its footsteps.
Local organizers and N.C. anti-GMO nonprofit Do Not Alter will host a march against agri-giant Monsanto and the rampant spread of GMOs on May 24 in Marshall Park, joining a worldwide day of protests planned in 52 countries. Co-organizer Catherine Dixon says Monsanto "is knowingly growing and mass distributing genetically modified organisms in the form of toxic crops that are proven cancer forming, to the uninformed public."

Charlottean Jason Latour is a busy man. The writer/artist recently took over Wolverine and the X-Men from Jason Aaron. The interesting part (aside from Marvel's apparent love for bald, bearded men named Jason) is that the two now have a book out together from Image Comics. Southern Bastards is a pulp-crime book with a back-country backdrop.
The series is a long time coming, and it's already getting high praise. Mark Millar, Ed Brubaker and Matt Fraction are just some of the writers praising the scribe and artist involved. For more Aaron goodness, check out the eighth volume of his Wolverine and the X-Men run, which also comes out today. And keep an eye out for a CL cover story on Latour, coming soon.
The Jasons aren't the only ones releasing books today. See what else is in store below. And remember, Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday.

Duke Energy ranks in the top 10 energy companies in the country for solar generation. Duke Energy Progress came in at No. 5, Duke Energy Carolinas at No. 10. "In total, the utilities have just under 200 megawatts of solar power - an amount that is still about half what one typical coal plant generates." Maybe one day the largest utility in the country will rank first.
A prison in Oklahoma halted an execution after a drug cocktail failed, leaving the inmate writhing and clenching his teeth on the gurney. Clayton Lockett, 38, later died of a heart attack.
According to the World Health Organization, disease-causing bacteria that are impervious to antibiotics are so widespread, they threaten the "achievement of modern medicine." The bacteria leads to such illnesses and infections as bloodstream infections, diarrhea, pneumonia, urinary tract infections and gonorrhea. "If no action is taken today in order to reduce the spread of antibiotic-resistant microbes and find new solutions, we may reach the point where some infections will not be treatable anymore," says Carmen Pessoa Da Silva, a Brazilian physician who leads a WHO program on the issue. (But here's some good news in the fight against HIV.)
Boxing giant Floyd Mayweather Jr. says he wants to buy the L.A. Clippers after the NBA banned the team's current owner, Don Sterling, from the league for life following racist comments he made that were caught on tape.

News The best and the worst of the new Knights stadium

The Knights' inaugural Uptown season has kicked off, and new fans have been streaming into BB&T Ballpark just as fast as they've been posting photos of every possible view from the bleachers onto social media. (It's like we've never seen buildings before.)
Not only did the first three home games sell out, but the Knights lead the league in attendance - a vast improvement from where they sat (at the bottom) when the team played in Fort Mill. In total, about 95,750 fans attended BB&T Ballpark's 10 home games.
The actual team hasn't given their new fans anything to cheer about just yet, which might become a problem for vendors if they continue to charge $6 for a hot dog and $12 for beers. Here are some other observations we've made about the new park.

Mayor Dan Clodfelter has asked city manager Ron Carlee to review a controversial decision City Council made to restrict the number of taxis that could service the airport. Council voted in 2011 to limit the number of cabs that could service the airport from 12 to three. Those who weren't granted a contract complained the decision was heavily influenced by former Mayor Patrick Cannon, who was recently arrested on a slew of corruption charges.
The White House has released a report on how to reduce the number of sex crimes on college campuses. The White House Task Force to Protect Students from Sexual Assault is seeking more transparency and more data on the frequency of such crimes and is asking colleges to provide survivors with more information and help.
How will NBA Commissioner Adam Silver punish L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling for the racist comments he allegedly made? He'll make an announcement today at 2 p.m. "Expect Silver to penalize Sterling as harshly as possible. Silver said the commissioner's office has a broad range of powers under the NBA's constitution and bylaws, which are not public."
Researchers say advancements in mental health treatment and parenting education programs are the reason violence, including bullying, sexual attacks and emotional abuse, against children has decreased since 2003. "Of the 50 specific types of violent and criminal acts that the investigators considered, 27 significantly declined and none significantly increased between 2003 and 2011."
