Check out these new exhibits, opening this week in Charlotte and the surrounding area.

Past Perfect: Kirsten Tradowsky at Pease Gallery: Inspired by the past, this San Francisco artist paints objects that are connected to a person's history. This includes Craigslist items that Tradowsky studies before painting and giving them a new home on canvas. Free admission. The exhibit continues through July 3. Artist lecture and on April 9. Beard and Moustache Art Showcase at Baku Gallery: The Beard and Moustache Club of NC are hosting a number of events in preparation for its big follicle-friendly competition (For more details, check out this week's cover story). Community exhibit at Charlotte Art League: This exhibit didn't open this week, but it's up through March 28 and features artwork that was inspired by neighborhoods and people in the Q.C. Come check it out tonight while there is also a special screening of Pollock. The film, part of CAL's Art Film Evenings, follows abstract artist Jackson Pollock's rise to fame. Free admission.
