GOD SAVE THE QUEEN CITY
For the last two years, God Save the Queen City was a way to showcase some of the best music that Charlotte has to offer. This time around, event organizers have combined a whole buncha good bands and crammed them all into one day. Looking to hear some great music? Want variety but also want to stay at one venue and don't have much money to spend? Then I'll see you here. The folk-rock of Futurebirds, the mellow folk of Jessica Lea Mayfield, the energetic rock of Lee Bains, retro rock from Temperance League, indie alt-country from Pullman Strike, Benji Hughes, Ancient Cities and more? You've got something better to do? $15-$20. Sept. 14, 3 p.m. The Chop Shop, 399 E. 35th St. 704-765-2467.
