Eric Clapton

Perhaps Eric Clapton's new album title sums it up the best - Old Sock. It's showing plenty of wear and tear, but remains familiar and comfortable. The legendary guitarist's music fits the same billing. The new album only contains two original tracks and you know exactly what you're going to get: a couple blues tunes, perhaps a ballad or two and a few rockers which will give Slow Hand a chance to show that he's still got it. The current tour setlist also fits the bill - a couple of blues tunes ("Tell the Truth" and "Love in Vain"), a ballad or two ("Wonderful Tonight," "Tears in Heaven") and a few rockers ("Layla," "Crossroads," "Sunshine of Your Love"). But there's a reason we don't just throw those old socks aside. At the right time, they still have exactly what we're looking for. With The Wallflowers. $46-$86. April 2, 7:30 p.m. Time Warner Cable Arena, 333 E. Trade St. 704-688-9000.
