Listed below is a roundup of CL's top picks for comedy shows in Charlotte this week. Hopefully, they keep you entertained and, more importantly, laughing out loud.

When Aisha Tyler visited The Comedy Zone up at Lake Norman back in 2010, she had yet to join the round table of chatter on CBS' The Talk. But her set was funny, which leads us to believe that we can expect the same outcome from Sheryl Underwood, a comedian who also happens to star on the same show and is visiting The Comedy Zone in Charlotte at NC Music Factory for five shows, Nov. 1-3. Underwood is a veteran comedian who has appeared on BET’s Comic View, where she picked up an award for "Funniest Female Comedian”. In her act she shares commentary on current events and doesn't hold back in voicing her opinions on whatever random, dumb, adult shit comes her way. $25-$30. Nov. 2, 8 p.m. and 10:15 p.m.; Nov. 3, 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The Comedy Zone Charlotte at NC Music Factory, 900 NC Music Factory Blvd., Suite B3. 980-321-4702. www.cltcomedyzone.com.

For the folks who make up Improv Charlotte, performing is about more than laughter — it’s about making a global impact. In the process of long form and short form games they strive to have their audience chuckling, but instead of pocketing proceeds from the event, they give the earnings to local and international charities. Money raised from this week’s show will go to the Red Cross' Hurricane Relief Fund. For more information, visit www.improvcharlotte.org. $5. Nov. 2, 7 p.m. Wine Up, 3306 N. Davidson St., Charlotte. 704-372-2633. www.wine-up.com.
