It's a worthy cause underscored by the three three domestic violence-related deaths in the city this year and 57 statewide.
Three deaths may not seem like an extraordinary number, but when combined with national statistics on domestic violence — a woman is beaten every 15 seconds in the U.S., according to the Department of Health and Human Services — it's a serious problem. Children who witness abuse are more likely to become abusers as adults.
