Creative Loafing photographer Jasiatic will be snapping pics of the public this Saturday (Oct. 9) at the Harvey Gantt Center — and you can get in on the act. Just check out the info below, sent by the folks at the Gantt Center:

Who Shot Ya? is a photo blog on creativeloafing.com that features images snapped by local underground photographer Jasiatic. It is her ongoing documentation of Charlotte’s Creative Class. On Saturday, October 9th from 5:00PM – 6:30PM preceding Fahamu Pecou’s 15 Project, Jasiatic will be in the Harvey B. Gantt Center’s Grand Lobby shooting portraits of cutting edge creatives interested in being featured on her blog. Be prepared to answer questions about “how you see yourself?” She’ll be printing pics on the spot so you can take your image home for just $5.00. See her work at www.jasiatic.com and you will know that this is a deal if not a steal . . .

About the Artist: Small-city girl, with big-world dreams … Jasiatic was born and raised in Charlotte. After moving to Raleigh and attending North Carolina State for two years, she returned home to finish up her B.A. in African Studies at UNC-Charlotte. Always drawn to indigenous culture and beauty, she decided to pick up a camera seriously and opt out of graduate school in 2002. She uses her camera to transform and translate the inner beauty of her subjects, through her eyes. Insisting to have her creative voice heard, she works as a freelance photographer and a contributing photographer for Creative Loafing.
