Isnt one supposed to get a little stressed before a gala? What to wear? is a fitting question for some of us who typically experience pre-dressing chaos. After all, galas and dressing-up usually go together. Usually, but not always, as we learn from Jeans and Jewels, a benefit for 24 Hours of Booty (a 24-hour cycling event that raises awareness and funds to support the Lance Armstrong Foundation and local cancer organizations). The particularly laid-back dress code of this gala happening this Saturday, June 26 at the Carillon Building Uptown entails a combo of both formal (as in jewelry) and casual (as in jeans or jean skirts, dresses, vests, etc.). Yeah, dressing for this gala is that easy can you believe it? The shindig will feature a fashion show, appetizers and drinks, a silent auction and raffle. Tickets are $45-$50. Starts at 7 p.m. Carillon Building, 227 W. Trade St. For more information, visit www.jeansandjewelscharlotte.com.
