Ah, the magnetic draw of appearing in a live theater production! WBTV evening news anchor Tonia Bendickson apparently couldnt resist the tug from as far away as Blowing Rock. Thats where she appears this Saturday night for one performance only as a red carpet reporter in the Ensemble Stage production of Murder in Tinseltown.
The dinner theater who-dun-it will be presented up yonder in the cool mountains at the Meadowbrook Inn, which becomes the Cone Manor Estate, where The Zombie Was an Alien will soon begin shooting or has the shooting already begun? Mic in hand, Bendickson will interview all the stars of the film, all of whom will no doubt double as suspects in the homicide somewhere between salad and dessert.
Will Bendicksons fans drop everything and make a beeline for Blowing Rock to see their idol, liberated from her anchor desk, in all her full-length glory? Apparently, Ensemble Stage believes exactly that, for their announcement of this landmark event reached us only today.
As the old showbiz manta commands: hurry, hurry! Seating is limited at this celebrity feast, and the price is yummy, just $42 for a menu that includes cedar-plank roasted salmon and stuffed chicken breast entrées.
For Bendickson fans, there are extra elements of excitement mixed in with their mystery and grilled peach crepes. At about the same time they learn who-dun-it, theyll also know whether a news anchor, working without the safety net of a teleprompter, can stand up, hold a microphone, and memorize her lines and cues all at the same time!
The suspense should be killer.
