Wells Fargo Advisors CEO Danny Ludeman doesn’t want his firm to be labeled as a huge company. Good for you Danny!

Even though Wells Fargo has grown to having 15,119 advisers, the company is reportedly working to stay in touch with its employees and investors. Wells Fargo Advisors remains second behind Merrill Lynch in its overall size.

The wealth management industry in time will adopt a "barbell" shape, he said, with a few giants on one end, lots of boutiques on the other end and nothing in between.

That said, Ludeman said he's working "harder than ever" to retain a small-company feel. Wells Fargo tracks information about its employees' personal and professional milestones, like recognizing a birthday or wedding anniversary.
