Less than 8 percent of Mecklenburg County voters turned out for Tuesdays primary election, according to unofficial results. Only one, Precinct 18 in Eastover, surpassed 20 percent the state average for primary elections in non-presidential election years.Officials expected 10 to 15 percent of the countys 590,000 registered voters to turn out.
