I hate to spur a run on milk, but forecasters say we may get a light dusting of snow tonight.

And, in the event the 1/2-inch to 1 inch of snow leaves you stranded and you need some entertainment, check out Twitter user @snOMG and the #snOMG Twitter stream. Rumored to be the creation of Charlotte's own Gregor Smith, the hashtag has become popular country-wide. The stream can get pretty raucous during a blizzard -- that is what we're calling an accumulation of snow flurries these days, right?

I'm telling you all this because MSNBC.com and NewsChannel 36 are reporting this: Road crews prepare for snow in Charlotte

A storm system is heading our way and it could bring snow to the Charlotte area.

The First Warn Storm Team says the system will move in late Thursday night into Friday. The Piedmont will see snow accumulations from about 1/2-inch to 1 inch.

Temperatures on the back side of the system will be even colder than the first blast of Arctic air that has been hanging over the area for the last several days. By the weekend, high temperatures may only climb to around 32 degrees with morning lows in the teens.

P.S. Another fun snow-related hashtag to follow is #snowpocalypse.
