Both Raleigh and Greensboro (WTF?! Greensboro?!) ranked higher on Forbes Magazine's latest list of cities. (They love to rank things, don't they?)

When it comes to affordable cities with stable employment, a new Forbes.com report puts the Charlotte area in the middle of the pack.

The publication ranks the Charlotte-Gastonia-Concord metropolitan area No. 56 among 100 large U.S. metro areas on a list of the “Best Bang for the Buck Cities.”

The survey looked at factors that include commute times, home vacancies, housing affordability, real estate taxes, unemployment and jobs forecast.
