Art: Be sure to take a stroll though the new interactive exhibition Per(Mutations): Interactive Work by Brian Knep and meet Knep at the opening reception going down today at McColl Center For Visual Art.
Music: They dont quack, but they do perform. Expect to hear a fusion of sounds from The Duhks when they visit Neighborhood Theatre.
Special Event: Check out the Urban League of Central Carolinas 2009 Leadership Awards ceremony, which honors good deeds done by local African-Americans. The ceremony also features soul vocalist Noel Gourdin at The Big Chill.
Saturday, Jan. 24
Music: Soul-blues musician Clarence Carter is in the Q.C. today for a performance at McGlohon Theatre, dubbed appropriately "Uptown Blues." Mac Arnold and Plate Full O' Blues to open.
Food: Eat like a queen (for much less in cost!) during Queens Feast: Winter 2009 Charlotte Restaurant Week, which offers prix fixe, three-course dinners for $30 per person at a variety of participating upscale restaurants.
Special Event: Festivities are kicking at the Chinese New Year Festival at The Peaceful Dragon. Enjoy watching martial arts demonstrations and more.
Sunday, Jan. 25
Theater: Love is in the air and in performances of Jacques Offenbachs opera Les Contes d'Hoffmann (The Tales of Hoffman), based on E.T.A Hoffmanns three former loves. It all goes down at CPCCs Halton Theater.
Food: Scarf down warm pizza and other good Italian eats at Giacomo's Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant.
Film: Watch three flies take a wild ride during the movie Fly Me To The Moon, which is showing at Discovery Places Imax Dome Theatre.
