We're in for 10 days of 90+ degree weather.
While most people know what they should do to keep from having a heat stroke -- drink water, stay out of the sun, save your major activities for the evening hours and so on -- a lot of people don't know what to wear.
Yes, it's hot and, yes, they make it in your size, but that doesn't mean you should put it on.
If your diet consists of beer, more beer and the sporadic light beer, that tight tank top is probably not going to work on you, Mr. Bar Food man. But in this heatwave, let's remember the bankers who have to walk around down-- I mean -- Uptown in long sleeves, khakis and ties. It's amazing that they haven't kicked their CEOs' asses!
Drink plenty of Water, not soft drinks, no alcohol.
Eat light meals, no heavy meals
Wear clothing that fits comfortable
Take frequent breaks in shade or in AC if possible
Adjust work if possible, starting early so you can get in the hours before hottest part of day, usually between 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Know the signs of heat stroke and heat exhaustion; you can go to the Red Cross web site for information.
Your body will tell you when you are doing too much; pay attention.
