Tournaments fill trains: The Charlotte Area Transit System’s light rail, the Lynx Blue Line, made around 90,000 trips during the four-day ACC tournament. In late February, during the CIAA tournament the Lynx dealt with 80,000 trips over a six-day period. During CIAA CATS increased the frequency of trains immediately before and after games. There were not any major issues, said CATS marketing manager Olaf Kinard. He added, "The biggest things we ran into were replenishing change and the ticket stock because of the crowds.”

Study: Top NCAA seeds lag academically: According to a study was conducted by Richard Lapchick, head of the University of Central Florida's Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport., number one seed teams in the NCAA men’s tournament make athletes and not academic scholars. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was the only school to graduate at least 50 percent of its players when the four No. 1 seeds in the NCAA men's tournament were examined.

Dalai Lama to resign if violence worsens: The Dalai Lama made a threat toward the leader of Tibet's government-in-exile. He said he would give up his job as the Dalai Lama if violence committed by Tibetans in his homeland became complete chaos. He said that "if things become out of control" his "only option is to completely resign." Last week the Dalai Lama urged fellow Tibetans to show self-control although demonstrations in Tibet became more violent.
