Police to Atlantans: If you can stay out of the city: Police officers and clean-up crews are working hard to repair the damage left by a tornado on Friday. The tornado was considered an EF-2 by the Fujita scale. Dozens of limbs are down, and many traffic lights are on the blink. At a news conference on Sunday, Atlanta Police Department spokeswoman Judy Pal said, "You are coming into a zone that has a lot of safety issues." She added that if you don't have business downtown, "please stay out of the city."

Church: Obama ex-pastor is under unfair attack: The Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s former church, Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, has criticized the news media for coverage of his sermons. In a statement released by the church, they stated that Wright’s “character is being assassinated in the public sphere." The former long-time preacher of Sen. Barack Obama has come under heavy fire recently for his controversial sermons. Sen. Obama has addressed the issue stating that some of Rev. Wrights’ words were "inflammatory and appalling."

UNC earns top overall seed in NCAA tournament: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has earned the number one seed overall going into this weekend’s NCAA tournament. Four other schools from the Carolinas made it to the big dance; Clemson, Duke, Winthrop, and Davidson will all be competing for a chance at the title. Tournament action kicks off Thursday night with Duke vs. Belmont at 7:10 p.m. in Washington D.C.

America was conned- who will pay? : If there was any question about the economic state of Wall Street it was answered when the fifth largest investment bank in the U.S., Bear Stearns, had to be bailed out by JP Morgan at a fraction of its true worth. Bear Stearns has been torn to shreds by the mortgage crisis. It seems the golden age for America’s elite is coming to an end. “It is somewhat surprising that there is not already rioting in the streets, given the gigantic fraud perpetrated by the financial elite at the expense of ordinary Americans.” Larry Elliot says. “Americans, to put it bluntly, have been conned. They have been duped by a bunch of serpent-tongued hucksters who packed up the wagon and made it across the county line before a lynch mob could be formed.” Elliot says.
