Before I begin this review, it has been brought to my attention that maybe I'm not the most unbiased person to handle this (I did say once that I wasn't a fan of Beyoncé per se). Whatever. How about we push that to the left for now. I attended the concert with the sole intention of grooving to Mr. Thicke's lush compositions and enjoying the crowd's reactions to "Bouncy." While Robin provided a nice mellow warm-up with his jumps from smooth piano to drums, bass and keyboard accompaniment to his songs, all of which everyone knew from constant airplay, it was the back stories he told in between sets that really pulled me in. He explained that "Can U Believe" came about during a time when he was drowning in lack of confidence, relationship and family problems, and how sometimes you have to be, ironically enough, your own best friend. Of course, his "best friend" remained silent during the deciding process of whether to do or not to do the white b-boy thing.

After Robin Thicke ended on a high note of "Wanna Love U Girl," it took B another 45 minutes to take the stage in a cloud of smoke and fireworks. After waiting a few minutes to take in her adoring public, the diva commenced with a very entertaining show beginning with "Freakum Dress." She whipped the hair around like it wasn't weave, interplayed other artists' songs with her own like a transition from "Crazy in Love" to Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy."

Several costume changes enhanced the "Experience" including one in which she appeared in a flesh-colored body suit dotted with sequins á la Britney Spears. The diva was let out during the Destiny's Child segment when Miss Beyoncé took "Say My Name" a little too personally. Overall, it was a very good show. The crowd was on their feet for every number and even got to sing with "B" during the finale, "Irreplaceable." Her all-female backing band was amazing.

Girl power has found its brightest spokeswomen, and I'm sure "Cajun Spice" won't be kicked to the left any time soon.
