Bananas for bowties? This is the night for you.

Excluding the agog affections of league-joining aficionados, the bowling alley never quite appears to be anyone's first choice for a night out. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride, a visit to the bowling alley is forever an afterthought, toppled in favor by dinner, drinks and dancing, and in constant competition with the pool hall. Conversely, bowling night can also suggest a conjuring of all things kitschy, from the cheap booze to the tawdry shoes. But if you're jonesin' for something different to fill your nocturnal hours with, bowling just may be it. Especially if you want to bowl in style.

Mr. Goodwill Hunting, aka Rashon Carraway, is hosting the “Bowling in Bowties” event at the Epicenter's Strike City, on Friday, Nov. 11. Participants can look forward to the venue's usual amenities, as well as a photo challenge to reward the night's best-looking bowtie'd bowler. An exclusive bowtie may be auctioned off as well. The event coincides with Strike City's “Birthday Club” promotion, where November birthday babies and their friends can receive special drink features, and more. More information about "Birthday club" can be found at http://strikecitycharlotte.com/special-event/?event_id=6749
