A fashion event is coming up this weekend that highlights the beauty in recycled art, and I highly recommend you go ahead and snag your tickets now.
Passport for Fashion, brought to you by Charlotte Seen on April 16 in partnership with Gilbert Iron and Steel (owned by Steven Gilbert) and several local hair salons, designers, local boutiques, museums, art schools, and makeup artists, will feature:
• Eight fashion shows
• Food from seven local restaurants
• A variety of vendors to shop from
• Swag bags for VIP and runway seat holders
• Wine and sake tastings
• Giveaways, and more
And all of this will take place in a 25,000 sq ft venue, REELWORKS, located at the NC Music Factory on 817 Hamilton St.
From the press release:
It has been said, “change is inevitable.” For millions of Americans, now more than ever, this cliché has become a reality. For some, this nebulous idea of change has forced its way into our everyday psyche demanding practical, everyday lifestyle adjustments – not tomorrow, but right now! For the conscience and conscientiously challenged, each in our own way, we are all becoming advocates for saving the environment. This team hopes to persuade others about the importance of environmental preservation, global warming, energy efficiency, and much more.
The fashion designers to be featured at the event include Luis Machicao, Beth Pilger, Tara Davis — all three who hail from Charlotte and have been featured on Klepto before — and Hanna Lei Taylor, who was selected as Emerging Designer at last year's Charleston Fashion Week.
This event will benefit A Child's Place.
Tickets are $20 and up and can be purchased here.
