Ok, fine! Twist my arm and force me to eat crepes.
Kidding. As someone with the biggest sweet tooth around, I was more than eager to take the Crepe Cellar Kitchen & Pub up on their offer to have me come by and sample a smorgasbord of dessert crepes last night.
As owner Jeff Tonidandel brought out four giant dessert crepes heaped with ice cream and whipped cream to my seat at the bar, fellow patrons gawked.
Take a gander at the goods:
1. BROWNIE IN A BLANKET: Nutella, candied walnuts, whipped cream, vanilla bean ice cream
This one is pretty much a brownie sundae wrapped in a crepe. Extremely decadent and sinful, but so darn good I couldn't stop eating it no matter how hard I tried. The crepe around the brownie added an extra little crunch and texture to the dessert. It's the least traditional, but probably one of my favorite crepes out of the four I tried.
This classic crepe was probably my least favorite of the bunch. It was good, but I enjoyed the other crepes more. It had a strong orange flavor due to the Grand Marnier sauce.
Mmm... Soft, sweet and rummy bananas on top of a crepe. This one was extremely tasty when mixed with the brownie crepe. Next time I'd get it with a slather of Nutella, if possible.
4. Nutella & Bananas: It's just that ... Nutella and bananas
Can't go wrong with the classic combo of Nutella and bananas. This one and the brownie crepe are tied for first place in my book.
