Yin yoga is a perfect complement to our yang lifestyles, athletic pursuits, and dynamic/muscular styles of yoga. As we age, connective tissue progressively becomes stiff, dry, and inflexible. Yin Yoga is an ancient practice based on the Taoist theory that targets connective tissue in our bodies such as the ligaments, bones, and joints creating more flexibility, range of motion, and better alignment of bones. The poses are held for a long period of time designed to stimulate the meridians that carry prana/chi creating a contemplative and meditative mindset.
