Women of Film: Documentaries on the American Justice System

Two films on the American Justice System will be featured in Tate Hall. The Final Gift follows director and producer Therese Bartholomew’s seven-year pursuit to find meaning in her brother’s murder – and her historic meeting with his killer in a South Carolina prison. Life Without is the creation of Melissa Mummert, local filmmaker and advocate for the incarcerated and their families. She gathered eight youth affected by incarceration in Charlotte and empowered them with the tools to tell their own stories using medium of documentary film. These films are a part the the Sensoria Festival 2013.
