Stage legend Cherry Jones is on tour, and her only stop in the Southeast is at Belk Theater through April 22. She reprises her Tony Award-winning role as Sister Aloysius in Doubt, the electrifying John Patrick Shanley drama that has swept every prize in its path, including the Pulitzer. Set in a Bronx Catholic school in pre-Women's Lib 1964, the key doubt in Doubt swirls around whether the charismatic reform-minded Father Flynn has stepped over the line in his familiarity with one of the school's male students. Below that lurks an even more disturbing question: whether Flynn should keep his position while the issue of pedophilia remains unresolved -- a troubling clash of due process vs. zealous protection. Jones is simply unforgettable as the zealot. Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8 p.m., weekend matinees at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and a getaway performance on Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20-$58.
