Two bits of shameless self-promotion this week:

comment

1.) We're looking for Charlotte's hottest citizens -- the sexiest hairdressers, bartenders, bank tellers, dog walkers or yoga instructors -- for our annual Lust List cover pictorial.

If you think you've got what it takes (or know someone who does), come out to our live Casting Call at Madison's on Jan. 23 at 8 p.m.

The event is free and no need to bring a headshot or anything like that. But be ready to answer a few crazy questions and have your picture taken. If we decide you're lustworthy, we'll include you in our highly anticipated Lust List 2008.

So check it out: Madison's, 200 N. Tryon (next to Connolly's), 704-358-4244.

2.) CL Editor Carlton Hargro and columnist Nsenga Burton are set to be presented with honors by the Urban League of Central Carolinas at the group's 2008 Leadership Awards Ceremony on Feb. 2.

Burton and Hargro -- along with promoter Michael Kitchen and Pride magazine publisher Torrey Feimster -- are be recognized because of their "commitment to professional and personal development, philanthropic engagements and in some cases community activism."

The event (to be held from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Grand Central, 1000 Central Ave.) is open to the public and will feature a live performance by soul vocalist Goapele. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door; to purchase advance tickets, visit www.thesoulmovement.com or contact Dee Miller at 704-451-9001.
