Turning with Tradition: Keeping the NC Pottery Tradition Alive Through Contemporary Works

The CVCC Potters’ Workshop presents a new lecture series for 2015, “Turning with Tradition: Keeping the NC Pottery Tradition alive through Contemporary Works.” The Workshop is pleased to host Catawba Valley potter Kim Ellington on Thursday, Feb. 19. Ellington is an acclaimed Catawba Valley potter known for his rich alkaline glazed, wood-fired stoneware; and will talk about his 30 year relationship with the Catawba Valley pottery tradition and the insight and influences gained by working within a time honored tradition in modern times. The lecture will be held at 7pm in the CVCC East Wing Auditorium.
