LEARN TO MEDITATE Take it from loyal practitioners of meditation: There's nothing like it to take the stress of your workday off your shoulders. That's why the Pain & Rehab Institute is offering a free class in the breathing techniques and imagery used in ancient qi gong meditation (betcha didn't know there was more than one kind). The office is located at 128 E. Plaza Drive in Mooresville. Classes are Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. Call 704-649-1629 to get started on the path to serenity.

2007 SUMMER FILM SERIES Remember that screen that pops up at the end of the previews during a new movie, claiming "Silence is Golden," but you know what they're really saying is "Shut up!"? Well, apparently, this is a true statement, especially when it comes to Harold Lloyd hanging from a clock embedded in the side of a building in the June 10th screening of Safety Last, as part of the free All About Mank: Classic Films of Joseph L. Mankiewicz. Upcoming titles - June 17: Our Hospitality; June 24: The Ghost and Mrs. Muir; July 1: All About Eve; July 8: Guys and Dolls. Each film begins at 2 p.m. at ImaginOn Library's Wachovia Theater.
