Actor's Theatre of Charlotte believes now is just as good a time as any to whip out the platform heels, fishnets, garters and rogue for The Rocky Horror Show. Basing performances off of Richard O'Brien's book, music and lyrics, the show's got nice timing for satisfying the wait (and longing for the cult fave's sweet Transylvanian transvestite) until screenings of the flick start popping up around Halloween. Unfortunately, the traditional audience participation of throwing things won't be permitted — c'mon, gotta have some respect for the actors and actresses on stage — but yelling at appropriate times is welcomed. $24-$29; "pay what you can" night on July 27. July 20-21, 7:30 p.m.; July 22-23, 8 p.m.; July 27-28, 7:30 p.m.; July 29-31, 8 p.m. Continues through Aug. 13. Actor's Theatre of Charlotte, 650 E. Stonewall St. 704-342-2251. www.actorstheatrecharlotte.org.
