Shakespeare Carolina's daring production tackle of Antony and Cleopatra may or may not have been enough to get your Shakespearian blood flowing, but either way this summer you've certainly been treated to some of Mista William Shakespeare's best works. Collaborative Arts started up the drama with its 2009 Charlotte Shakespeare Festival, featuring freebie shows of the humor-filled, gender-spilled Twelfth Night from late May to mid June. And now, they are shifting gears for a good ol' tragedy via productions of the bloody political thriller Julius Caesar. Performances continue Wednesday through Saturday until Aug. 16. Free (donations accepted). Wednesdays and Thursdays, 7:30 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays evenings, 8 p.m.; Aug. 15, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Aug. 9 and Aug. 16, 3 p.m. McGlohon Theatre, 345 N. College St. 704-625-1288. www.collaborativeartstheatre.com/shakespeare09.htm.
