Playwright Karen Brody had a fixation on childbirth in America. As a result, she conducted more than 100 interviews with pregnant women (now THAT takes guts), before setting out to write her own play titled Birth. The play, based on eight women's real-life experiences with pregnancy, will be performed at Queens University of Charlotte's Hadley Theatre Nov. 12-15. Let the lamaze breathing begin. Proceeds benefit Carolina Community Maternity Center. $10 for students (with ID) and pregnant women; $25 for the public.Nov. 15, 2 p.m.; Queens University of Charlotte's Hadley Theatre, 2132 Radcliffe Ave. 704-337-2200. www.carolinatix.org.
