Life is full of twists and turns, but during Actor's Theatre of Charlotte's performances of Becky's New Car — a comedy by Steven Dietz (also the author of Yankee Tavern) — you'll witness to a midlife crisis that spins out of control. When a longtime married woman and car dealership worker named Becky takes interest in an eccentric millionaire who is on a spree for new wheels, lines are crossed. Taking on a double-life, Becky's romance becomes too difficult to navigate, leaving her at a crossroads where she must determine with path to travel. I hope she's buckled up, because it looks like this is going to be one bumpy ride. Oct. 22-23, 8 p.m.; Oct. 27-28, 7:30 p.m.; Oct. 29-30, 8 p.m. Continues through Nov. 13. $10-$15 for previews on Oct. 22 & 23; Pay what you can night on Nov. 3; $24-$31 for all other shows. Actor's Theatre of Charlotte, 650 E. Stonewall St., Charlotte. 704-342-2251. www.actorstheatrecharlotte.org.
